Already when we hear the word Spain many positive images come to mind. Good weather, incredible gastronomy, friendly and happy people… For many of our customers it has been described as paradise. But perhaps it is necessary to dig a little deeper to really understand what this country has to offer. Why do so many choose it as their new place of residence? In this post we will give you the main reasons why you should start living in Spain as an expatriate or foreigner. After reading this you will not consider any other option!

The Climate and it’s warmth

Forget about those climates where you can’t go outside during the winter due to how cold it is , because in Spain you will find the ideal temperature throughout the year. 320 sunny days!

What exactly will you find? Winters that allow you to walk down the street wearing only a jacket on and hot summers perfect for relaxing at the beach. What more could you want?

And yet that is not all. One of the main advantages of the Spanish territory is its landscape diversity. If you prefer to enjoy a more humid and rainy climate, the north will be the perfect place for you. Asturias, the Basque Country, Galicia… regions that fit into this category and have a lot to offer.

But if you like the sun and the warm temperatures with peaks of vitamin D, Costa Blanca is your bestfriend , you will not find a single autonomous community that can disappoint you.

The History this country holds

Wherever you go, you will live the history of Spain and you will be immersed in it. Spain is a nation that, since its origins, has been built on many different groups, all of them with their peculiarities and differences. The result? A diverse and divided culture. A set of regions with their own traditions and specialties.

This means that this country will allow you to embark on fascinating weekend trips to discover the most remote places full of culture. You can go to Granada and see the Alhambra; to Barcelona and see Gaudi’s masterpieces, or north to explore the Altamira caves.

The country is full of historical places ready to be discovered.

The Spanish Health Care

Spain has one of the best public healthcare in the world, according to the Health Care Access and Quality Index .

On one hand, we find a free public health care system that is available to all residents of the country, providing a more than exceptional service.

On the other hand, for those treatments and operations that must be carried out under private healthcare, you will find much more affordable prices than in most developed countries.

And the truth is that the quality of life in Spain is incredible with health benefits that you won’t find in this quantity anywhere else. The hours of sunshine, the Mediterranean diet (full of fruits and vegetables) and the relaxed but enjoyable lifestyle are all contributing factors to a country with one of the highest life expectancies in the world.

People in Spain are predicted to have the longest life expectancy in the world by 2040 – beating Japan into second place – and much of the reason is to do with the way they eat as well as the quality of food that Spanish stores and farmers markets are able to offer are among the best in the world according to the authors of the most comprehensive study of the global burden of disease.

The previous point inevitably leads us to the all over quality of life that you will enjoy in the country. And yes, we dare to say that it is the best quality of life in the world.

Well, in Spain you will not find that work lifestyle based on stress and constant rush, something that happens in cities like New York. The Spanish spirit is based on enjoying life as much as possible, especially when it comes to sharing it with others.

And you wouldn’t be able to enjoy this quality of life if it weren’t for the low cost of living in the country. Many things, such as food and products in supermarkets, dining out in a restaurant, and even housing and rent are much cheaper than in any other European country , so living here is a lifetime investment financially aswell as mentally .

Retiring And Ease Of Obtaining A Residence Permit

Another positive facet of Spain is its Immigration Law. There are many options for non-EU (non-EU) citizens planning to move to Spain to live and work. Getting a visa is really easy.

For example, there is the investor visa, a residence permit that can be obtained simply by investing €500,000 in real estate. Considering that you will need a house to live in anyway, this is a very good option.

But there are other permits that are adapted to many specific situations experienced by foreigners from all over the world who want to start living in Spain. For example, if you plan to retire in this country, the non-profit visa will be ideal.

You just have to make sure you meet the requirements of the permit you want to apply for, and getting a residence and work permit will not be a problem. Especially if you trust specialized immigration attorneys to help you through the entire process.

Community For Everyone

There is no doubt that moving to a new country can be a difficult process. You leave family and friends behind, and that creates the need to build a new social circle.

But it seems that in Spain that will not be a difficult task at all.

If you go to platforms such as Meetup or Eventbrite you will find all the events that are organized every week and that help expats to make new friends and create connections.

Obviously, these events are more numerous in large cities such as Barcelona, Madrid or Valencia. But no matter where you start living, there is bound to be a Facebook group with foreigners living in that region.

Meeting people who are in the same situation as you in the country is really easy. Likewise, you will have no problem finding groups made up of like-minded people.

In this sense, there are two points to highlight. First of all, the great offer that you will find in the country. Allow us to warn you that choosing your new home will not be an easy task but that’s exactly why we are here !

No matter what your budget is, you’ll have plenty of options.

Second, and perhaps even more important, it won’t be expensive. There are countless houses and apartments available at a reasonable price. To give you an idea, you can get much more for the same money in Spain than, for example, in the UK or Finland.

But this does not mean that you cannot find more luxurious options. The real estate market in Spain is completely diverse and full of opportunities for investors.

If there is something that the Spanish like, it is to live life to . And you will not experience better parties than those in Spain. Costa Blanca has become the perfect destination for tourists who want to see the most welcoming community.

But not everything is partying in nightclubs like we find elsewhere in the world . The Spanish night has much more to offer. Because you will always find people dining in a restaurant from 9 to 2 pm. People like to go out a lot, and the atmosphere is completely charming.

And then time for a drink. Tons of amazing rooftops will invite you to have a gin and tonic while enjoying an enchanting view of the city, beach or any neighborhood you choose to live in will have options in the radius of 1km to 3 km .

Wine and Tapas (Snacks)

We’ve already talked about Spains quality of Wine and its affordable prices , but food and drinks here are an uplifting, life changing experience to add. And it is that Spain truly has the best wines in the world. And that is why wine tourism is so popular today in the country.

If you come to Spain you we highly reccomend you to taste a glass of wine. It is almost mandatory. White, rosé, red… in fact all the wines are incredible as well as the beer here has been said to be among the best .

But it came with what?

Of course, with tapas, what we find at the heart of Spanish gastronomy. servings of typical Spanish food that will be the perfect for a pleasant outing.

The downside is that once you order the first ones… you won’t be able to stop!
